How to block Newly Installed Apps

Want to make sure any new app you install gets blocked automatically? AppBlock has you covered with the Add newly installed apps option.

How to enable it

  1. Open or create a schedule (or Quick Block).
  2. Make sure you’re in Blocklist mode.
  3. Scroll down to Extra options.
  4. Turn on Add newly installed apps.

From now on, any app you install on your device will be automatically added to that schedule’s blocklist when the schedule is active.

When this is useful

  • You’re trying to avoid distractions and don’t want to be tempted to install a new social media app.
  • You’re doing a digital detox and want to lock things down.
  • You want a “guard rail” against impulse-installing during a focus session.

Good to know

  • This option works per-schedule — you can enable it on as many schedules as you want.
  • It only affects apps installed after you turn it on — apps already on your device aren’t added automatically.
  • Add newly installed apps is a Premium feature.
