AppBlock is not working

Is there anything you have recently changed?

No, I did not change anything, and AppBlock worked before.

It looks like something is preventing AppBlock from running in the background. Please check out our Troubleshooting section in “More.” Eventually, you can also try reinstalling AppBlock. If this does not help, please contact our support team.

I changed my blocking setup, and AppBlock stopped working.

Please try reinstalling AppBlock. If the issue persists, send us a short video (max 20MB) or screenshots of your blocking setup and provide us with more details about this issue. We will do our best to help you out. You may also check out the Troubleshooting tips.

I made changes outside the app

I force stopped AppBlock

I opened the blocked app in a floating window or popup view

I tried to block dual app (two copies of the same app)

It can take a few seconds for AppBlock to start after you restart your device. If it does not start up at all, please ensure the autostarting feature is enabled. Instructions for most devices can be found in Troubleshooting tips. Eventually, you can also try reinstalling AppBlock. If this does not help, please contact our support team.

I changed something else

We're sorry to hear that! Please try reinstalling AppBlock, in case the issue persists, contact our support team describing the issue in detail and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Only apps get blocked correctly, website blocking is malfunctioning.

I use a specific browser.

We currently support most of the common browsers. In case you need to block websites in one of the unsupported browsers. You can use our “block unsupported browsers” feature in Extra options. This function will block access to all our unsupported browsers and you will not be able to open the browser app.If you miss a specific browser, please contact our support team and let us know which browser you would like AppBlock to support in the future. We will forward it to our developers and in case the demand for this browser will be higher, we will consider implementing it.

Accessibility permission is removed after closing AppBlock.

If the accessibility permissions are being removed, it is usually a problem with the operating system. It happens mostly on Xiaomi (and related) devices and there's not much we can do about it. When you remove AppBlock from recent apps, the accessibility service is killed. Adding AppBlock to the locked apps (hold the app icon in recent and select the lock) can help solve the issue. For some devices, it is enough to turn the accessibility off and back on again, for others you will have to restart your device for it to be re-enabled.

Additionally, make sure that you enable everything mentioned in Troubleshooting - including autostart and battery optimization.

Usage limits on websites do not count well.

In case you notice that schedules with websites blocking that are set by usage limit conditions are not working properly, please make sure you have usage access permission enabled for AppBlock in your device setting.

AppBlock never worked on my device

Question 2

AppBlock does not work after force-stopping the app

Accepted Answer

In case you force close the app, AppBlock is closed and cannot block neither apps nor websites. In this case it is necessary to restart the app in order to restart the blocking process. This may also happen if you are using task killer software or automated backup software.

To prevent bypassing your blockings by force-stopping AppBlock, please make sure “Block device settings” in Strict Mode is enabled and Strict Mode is activated. This will prevent access to your device settings and you will not be able to force-stop AppBlock.

Question 3

AppBlock does not work in pop-up view/floating windows

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, we have not yet found any technology that would allow us to block reliably in pop-up view on all devices, but we will keep looking and hopefully implement it sometime in the future.Many apps allow you to turn this feature off in-app, so this may be worth considering. You can find some guides online when looking for the specific app and keywords like "floating window", "popup" or "window in window".Sometimes locking AppBlock in recent apps can also help block pop-up windows more reliably.

Question 4

AppBlock does not block Dual Apps

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, it is not technically possible to block dual apps. The "second app" doesn't really exist in the device, your device only sees it as one app and so it is invisible for AppBlock. We will keep our eyes open for new technologies, but currently, it just isn't possible.

Question 5

AppBlock does not work when I enable ultra power saving mode

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, with current technology, we cannot block the ultra power saving mode. Super saving mode (Ultra battery saver) stops apps from working, meaning that it turns off AppBlock and then we can't block other apps. Some operating systems go against the Android best practices and can cause issues for apps. Sometimes you are able to add exceptions to the saving mode and adding AppBlock to those should stop it from being disabled.

You can also use the “block device settings” option in Strict Mode to prevent you from enabling ultra power saving mode in settings.

Combining blocking conditions

How can I effectively combine blocking conditions? For instance, I want to implement a limited launch count while I’m at home, and restrict usage to a maximum of 20 minutes per hour while connected to the work network.

Here’s a straightforward guide to set it up:

1) Create a new Schedule2) Choose your initial blocking condition; for example, select the time and specify your working hours.3) Save the changes and click on “Add” in Conditions to include a second blocking condition, such as the usage limit, and specify as you wish.4) Proceed with the Schedule setup by selecting the apps you wish to block and assigning a Schedule name. Finally, click on “Create” to activate the Schedule.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to seamlessly combine different blocking conditions and tailor your device usage to your specific needs.

Question 7

Can I block selected apps in a specific area?

Yes, you can! You can easily set the location where you want to block the apps. Either directly based on the location or it's inverse form - for example any time you are not at home.Just create a new schedule and select "Location" as your blocking condition to set it up.

Can I set usage time for selected apps?

Accepted Answer

You can select a time limit for using applications each day when a particular schedule is activated. For example only 20 minutes of Facebook during working time or at school.

How to set it up?1) Create a new schedule2) As your first blocking condition, select time and specify your working time - or other time you want to limit your device usage3) Tap at "Add +" next to "Conditions" and choose usage limit - select for how long you can use the apps.4) Continue the schedule setup by selecting the blocked apps and a schedule name before pressing create and activating it.

Newly installed apps do not appear on the blocklist

If you've installed a new app and it's not appearing on the list of apps to block, we recommend restarting your device. Occasionally, newly installed apps may take some time to appear in the app picker. Restarting your phone can help expedite this process and ensure the app is visible for blocking.

Can I duplicate an Existing Schedule?

Yes, you can do so through the menu on the top right corner in the schedule detail screen. Simply head to your desired Schedule, press on the 3 dots and select “Duplicate”.

How does AppBlock handle your data

Our blocking method is purely local, taking place in your device only. Data related to blocking applications and viewing the internet therefore remain on your device.We also assure you that your privacy is very important for us and we do not sell any personal data to third parties.Check out our privacy policy for details on what data is collected on each of the different platforms.

How we use your data:

Statistics dataAll the usage data and other statistics in AppBlock are 100% private. We aren't sharing this data with anyone. The statistics data are deleted each time you reinstall AppBlock. We can only renew the app's statistics data for the past 2 weeks by importing it from your device's system. Website statistics cannot be renewed once deleted or if AppBlock is reinstalled, as they are only stored on the device.

Data about blockingsAll your schedules, Quick Block setup, and other blocking settings are stored only on your device.

Login dataIf you log into the app to use the Academy, we see your email address used for creating the account and the Academy's progress to keep it synchronized with our server. In case you have premium, login is also used for backups.

Analytics dataWe collect anonymous usage data that helps us improve the app. This data cannot be linked back to you in any way. Analytics may include the type of conditions most frequently used when creating schedules, how often Quick Block is activated, and similar.

We also collect invaluable crash and performance data in fixing issues and improving the overall experience.

How to change app language

How to block websites

How to block websites?

There are two ways to block websites – either using specific URLs or using keywords for mass blocking.URL blocking blocks only the specified link and nothing else. This is great for when you spend too much time on specific websites, such as facebook.com, twitter.com, reddit.com or youtube.com.

Here are the steps how to block specific URLs:

Create a Schedule or QuickBlock as usual.

In the step where you select the applications, at the top, tap on webs.

Type in a website you want to block by entering the URL or select from the suggested list. Only the part before the slash character (“/”) is recognised. Tap at “add”. Repeat until you have added all URLs that you wish to add.

Save.

Note: You may block both websites and apps using the same schedule. Just set up the apps, change to the webs tab, set it up and save.

If you want to add many similar websites at once, you can do so using keywords instead. The keyword is checked in the domain of the URL (before the slash character (“/”), unless specified otherwise. If you want to also block the keyword if it is after the slash, Change the “in domain” to “anywhere in URL".  It can help you block search results and more.

Steps are pretty similar:

Create a Schedule or QuickBlock as usual.

In the step where you select the applications, at the top, tap on keywords.

Optional: For more information about keywords, press the information bubble on the top right.

Type in a keyword you want to block by typing it into the field.entering the URL or select from the suggested list.

If you want the current keyword to be blocked anywhere, choose “Anywhere in URL option”.

Tap the “add” button to add it to the list.

Repeat until you have added all keywords that you wish to add.

Save

To edit URLs or keywords, hold the item and select edit. Preset websites in the initial list cannot be edited, only selected/unselected.

Can I lock the Schedule?

Of course you can! You have two locking options:

1) until a specific time (Time Lock)2) until connecting a charger. (Charger Lock)

To set up, go into the schedule details screen, press the lock icon on the top right corner and select your preferred locking option (Time Lock / Charger Lock). Please note that once you lock your schedules, you will not be able to do any changes.

How to block Newly Installed Apps

Do you find yourself downloading new applications to circumvent your blocking? This may be the solution:

Create a Schedule or QuickBlock as usual.

In the step where you select the applications and website you want to block, select Add newly installed apps.

Read the information in the pop-up and press ADD.

Save.

Note: It can take a short time until AppBlock gets notified that a new application has been installed.

I bought a premium but it doesn't work

Accepted Answer

1) Please ensure you are signed into the same Google Play Account as when you bought AppBlock Premium. You can easily check this by going to the Google Play Store –> your profile picture –> Payments and subscriptions –> Subscriptions. If AppBlock is in the list, then you are signed in correctly. If not, please sign in to the correct account.2) In case you purchased an all-in-one pack product a few years ago, go to the Troubleshooting section of AppBlock. At the bottom you will find Restore purchases. Enter your Order ID.3) If none of this helps, clear the Google Play Store cache – usually under settings –> applications –> play store –> storage and cache –> clear storage –> close the settings and reopen the Google Play Store. Close AppBlock (remove it from recent apps) and reopen it.You can also check out our detailed guide on how to restore purchase.Eventually please try to reinstall AppBlock. In case none of the above helps, please contact our support team and we will have a closer look at the issue.

How to make Usage Limit Schedule

Want to limit your usage of an app? Create a schedule limiting how much you can use an app each hour or day.

Go to the Blocking tab. In the Schedules section, tap + Add to create a new Schedule.

Select Usage limit as your blocking condition.

Select Daily or Hourly usage limit.

Set the limit by typing it using the numbers or by tapping the +1h (hour) and +1m (minute) buttons.

Save.

Select the apps and websites you want to block, what is blocked and name your schedule.

Tap Create.

Note: Schedules are activated automatically after creating them. You do not have to enable them manually after setting them up.

Note: In AppBlock versions 5.X, Schedules are found in the menu on the left > Schedules.

Other possible causes

Force Closing the app: In case you force close the app, AppBlock is closed and cannot block apps nor websites. In this case it is necessary to restart the app in order to restart the blocking process. This may also happen if you are using task killer software or automated backup software.

Low battery: If AppBlock shuts down when you are low on battery, this is because the device manufacturer closes apps in the background. This can however easily be solved: How to stop AppBlock from turning off when your battery is low?

How to block Settings on iOS16 (and older) with AppBlock

If you want to block the access to your general settings, you can follow our step-by-step guide bellow.

Blocking Settings on devices with iOS16 and older:

Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

Tap on 'Automation', then 'Create Personal Automation'.

Select 'App', choose the application you wish to block (like Settings), and confirm.

Tap on 'Scripting', then 'Open App'.

In the 'Open App' window, tap on 'App', and select 'Shortcuts'.

Turn off 'Ask Before Running', and confirm 'Don’t Ask' in the pop-up.

Hit 'Done' to save your automation.

Head over to the AppBlock app, add the Shortcuts app to your blocklist, and activate the blocking.

Lastly, activate Strict Mode in AppBlock to ensure your blocking stays active.

How to make Time Schedule

Want to block some apps on certain days or at certain times?

Go to the Blocking tab. In the Schedules section, tap + Add to create a new schedule.

Select Time as your blocking condition.

Select the days you want the block to be active. Any red days will be blocked.

Optional: Tap Add (+) on the right of times to add the time you want the apps to be blocked on the red days. It is active all day by default.

Select the FROM time, tap TO, select the until time and press OK.

Save.

Select the apps and websites you want to block, what is blocked and name your schedule.

Tap Create.

Note: Schedules are activated automatically after creating them. You do not have to enable them manually after setting them up.

Can I use my PRO version on different devices?

Yes this is possible, but you must be signed in to Google Play using the same Google account on all of your devices. 🙂

What should I do if I am blocked?

Accepted Answer

First we need to find out what is blocking your access.

If only the schedule is blocking you, the easiest solution is to simply change the blocking parameters.

If you are in Strict mode, the deactivation condition must be fulfilled first. Currently, we provide 3 deactivation conditions: Charger, PIN code and None(Timer + follow schedules).

In case you need to urgently unblock AppBlock, please go to Contact support and select “I need to unlock my device” reason. We will send you a one-time code that will deactivate Strict Mode and delete the PIN code to enter AppBlock in case you set one up.If you have any other problems, don’t be afraid to reach out to us.

Question 23

My apps are not blocked in split-screen

If you are having any troubles with split-screen not being blocked correctly, try enabling the AppBlock accessibility service for more efficient blocking.

1) Tap Downloaded services and find AppBlock.2) Tap AppBlock and hit turn ON.3) Tap OK to confirm.

How to block in intervals

Accepted Answer

Sometimes you just need a break. Setting short breaks at set times in your time schedules becomes easy with this guide:

Go to the Blocking tab. In the Schedules section, tap + Add to create a new schedule.

As the blocking condition select Time

Select the days you want to block the apps. Any red days will be blocked.

Next to times, on the right tap the button Add (+)

Select your first time interval by selecting the FROM time, switching to the TO tab and finally clicking OK.

Tap Add (+) again to add a second time interval.

Repeat as often as needed. You can update intervals by tapping on them or tapping X to remove them. The bar under the times shows when the blocking will be active. The schedule will be ON for any red parts on the selected days.

Note: Schedules are activated automatically after creating them. You do not have to enable them manually after setting them up.Note: In AppBlock versions 5.X, Schedules are found in the menu on the left > Schedules.

I'm not able to unlock a Schedule with a charger

Accepted Answer

Just attaching your charger is not enough. With the charger attached, you must go into the locked schedule's detail page and press the little lock on the top right hand corner to unlock the schedule.Occasionally, the schedule cannot be unlocked even if the charger is connected. Try reconnecting the charger with the locked schedule's detail screen opened and wait for a while, then try to unlock it again.You cannot use the charger to unlock a schedule which is locked for a set time. In this case, you will have to wait until the timer runs out.

How to change the beginning of the day

Do you go to bed past midnight or do you work nightshifts and want to change the time when your daily usage limit and launch count is reset? Follow these simple steps to set it up:

Open the AppBlock settings: More > Settings.

Tap on Beginning of the day.

Select the time you would like your usage and launch count to be reset.

Tap Set when done.

Note: In older versions of AppBlock, you will find the settings in the left menu. In even earlier versions, the Beggining of the day setting is found in the AppBlock settings > Other settings > Beginning of the day.

Problems with specific phone brands

Even though we designed our app to be compatible with all devices, sometimes, the device might act a bit differently than expected. On this page, you can find some good-to-know information about the most common and problematic devices and useful tips. However, you should always check important in-app steps (recommendations, error messages, and especially our Troubleshooting section).

To search for a specific phone brand, you can press CTRL+F (Windows) keys or CMD+F (MacOS) keys for a search bar to appear and type the desired name. In case you cannot use the search on your phone, you can scroll down to your brand or open Help section on our web.

NOTE: each phone model might have a different path to a specific option/permission. If you are unable to locate it, please try searching on the internet your phone model and the option/permission you need. You should be able to find more specific guides.

Huawei

Unfortunately, Huawei is one of the most troubled phone brands in the current market. Chinese vendors tend to ignore Android’s best practices and implement very bizarre custom modifications which make background tasks nearly impossible to run. This includes stable and reliable run of AppBlock as well.

Please do:

Phone settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Power plan is set to Performance..

Phone Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected apps – check for AppBlock as Protected

Phone Settings > Apps > AppBlock > Battery > Power-intensive prompt [x] and Keep running after screen off [x]

Phone settings > Apps > ‘Advanced (At the bottom) > Ignore optimizations> Press ‘Allowed’ > All apps > Find AppBlock on the list and set to ‘Allow’

(Huawei P9 Plus) Phone settings > Apps > Settings > Special access > Ignore battery optimization> select Allow AppBlock app.

If all fails, please try to set the app as device administrator (AppBlock > Setting > CAPTCHA > Prevent escaping CAPTCHA). This may also prevent the system from killing AppBlock.

NOTE: AppBlock version installed from AppGallery might differ from the Google Play Store, each version might require other permissions. To check all needed permissions, please go through the initial onboarding process carefully and our in-app Troubleshoot.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi might be the most troubled phone on today’s market. Chinese vendors tend to ignore Android best practices and implement very bizarre custom modifications which make background tasks nearly impossible to run.

The specific steps depend on which version of the MIUI you have. Things to try:

APP PINNING If AppBlock stops working correctly, the blocking suddenly does not work and/or you are experiencing issues with Accessibility, you should try pinning AppBlock. How to do it?When you open the recent apps tray, just drag AppBlock downwards – it will be locked. On some devices, you will have to tap the down arrow next to the app name for the options to pop-up. There, you need to select the „Lock“ icon. After that, even if you clear recent apps it will not be removed from the background. Drag downwards again to clear AppBlock from the background.

BATTERY MANAGEMENT Please enable:

Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery manager > Power plan is set to Performance

Device Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected apps – AppBlock needs to be Protected

Device Settings > Apps > AppBlock > Battery > Power-intensive prompt [x] and Keep running after the screen off [x]..

BATTERY MANAGEMENT 2 Settings > Additional Settings > Battery & Performance > Manage apps’ battery usage and here:1) Switch Power Saving Modes to Off 2) Choose the next options: Saving Power in The Background > Choose apps > select ‘AppBlock’ > Background Settings > No restrictions

APP BATTERY SAVER Security > Battery > App Battery Saver > AppBlock > No restriction then enable SaA to autostart in the security center

AUTOSTART (according to https://in.c.mi.com/thread-253478-1-0.html):

Open security app > permissions > auto-start

Enable Autostart for desired apps.

If all fails, please try to set the app as device administrator (AppBlock > Setting > CAPTCHA >Prevent escaping CAPTCHA). This may also prevent the system from killing AppBlock.

NOTE: It is recommended to not start “Ultra Battery Saver” mode on Xiaomi devices as it will stop all not needed background apps from running correctly. On some models, you should be able to make app exceptions, but it might still cause some minor issue with correct blocking.

OnePlus

The app might experience some issues on OnePlus phones unless you turn off battery optimizations for AppBlock.

System Settings > Apps > Gear Icon > Special Access > Battery Optimization.

WARNING: Recently OnePlus phones started reverting this setting randomly for random apps. Even when you set it to be "not optimized", it may automatically reverse back to "optimized" the next day. There is no workaround and you may have to check system settings every once in a while.There is a bug report filed to OnePlus.

On some OnePlus phones there is also a thing called App Auto-Launch which essentially prevents apps working in the background. Please disable it for AppBlock.

Also do:

Phone settings > Battery > Battery optimization > switch to the All apps list (Top menu) > AppBlock > Don’t optimize

NOTE: Some of our users indicated that you need to disable Doze mode in Developer options.

Samsung Galaxy

Unfortunately, some new models tend to cause issues with AppBlock running correctly. Please, see the text below for critical information.

S8 (and apparently also some older phones) has introduced a flawed attempt at prolonging battery life called “App power monitor“. For AppBlock to work correctly, please whitelist AppBlock from the App power monitor.How to do it: Open the Settings app > Device maintenance > Battery and at the bottom you’ll see a list of your most frequently used apps. You can put apps to sleep individually or in a group by selecting them then tapping the big SAVE POWER button. Apps that are sleeping will appear in the SLEEPING APPS list at the bottom (tap it to expand the list). Scrolling further — all the way to the very bottom — and you’ll find Unmonitored apps. These are apps that you specifically want to exclude (white list) from App power monitor. When inside the Unmonitored apps menu, you can tap the three dots menu to add or delete apps from the list. Rather than bothering with any of that, you can just turn off the App power monitor feature completely as it has little-to-no impact on battery life and only serves to handicap the normal functioning of your Galaxy phone. It’s excessive and in some cases downright misleading, using scare tactics to keep you reliant on Samsung’s software when other Android devices get by just fine without it.

On other Samsung phones, the path may look like this:Phone settings > Applications > select three dot menu (top right corner) > Special Access > Optimize Battery usage > Find AppBlock on the list and make sure that it is not selected.

NOTE: If you enable Edge Lighting for AppBlock, then AppBlock will not be able to wake your screen up when the alarm starts. To allow AppBlock to work as intended, please remove AppBlock from the Edge Lighting applications list.

Oppo

On those devices, background services are often being killed (including accessibility services). Here are some steps that should prevent this problem:

NOTE: It is recommended not to start “Ultra Battery Saver” mode on Vivo devices as it will stop all unnecessary background apps from running correctly. On some models, you should be able to make app exceptions, but it might still cause some minor issues with correct blocking.

Starting with iOS 16.4, you can use the built-in search in blocklist to find your system apps (for instance Safari) even when they are not visible on the list. This will allow you to choose these apps for blocking. Please note that your keywords blockings will have no effect with the entire Safari blocked.

It is also not possible to add system apps to allowlist.

How to make an Inverse Location Schedule

Do you want to stop yourself from checking on work apps when out of work? The following steps will help you set it up!

Go to the Blocking tab. In the Schedules section, tap + Add to create a new Schedule.

Select the apps and websites you want to block, what is blocked and name your schedule.

Select “Location” as your blocking condition and make sure location permission is granted. (If you have never made a location schedule before, you will now be asked for the missing permissions. Follow the written instructions to grant them).

Select the radius of the location you want your apps to be unblocked at or use the search in the top right corner to type the address you want to block.

Toggle the switch for “Inverse radius”.

Save.

Tap Create.

Optional: If you want the location schedule to remain active when location services are unavailable, you may set this in the AppBlock settings, More > Settings > Toggle the switch When Location unavailable on.

Note: The schedule will activate automatically when the condition is fulfilled. You do not need to manually activate it. It can however take a couple of minutes for AppBlock to receive your location and start the blocking.

Do you want to have a different usage limit on weekends than weekdays? Or combine any other schedule conditions together? You can!

Go to the Blocking tab. In the Schedules section, tap + Add to create a new schedule.

Select your first blocking condition, for example, Time.

Set it up as you wish and tap Save.

Next to step 1, you will now see a little “+Add” button. Tap it.

Select your second condition, for example Usage limit, set up and save.

Repeat until you have all the conditions you want to combine.

Select the apps and websites you want to block and continue as usual.

For example, to give yourself different usage limit for different days, you may create two schedules:“Weekends” with usage limit: 4h/day + Time: weekends.“Weekdays” with usage limit: 1h/day + Time: weekdays.

Note: Combining conditions inside one schedule leads to the schedule being active when ALL conditions are active. Navigate to the Blocking Tab: Tap on the “Blocking” tab within the app interface.

Pull to Refresh: Swipe down on the screen to initiate the refresh process.

Go to the Blocking tab. In the Schedules section, tap + Add to create a new Schedule.

Select the apps and websites you want to block, what is blocked and name your schedule.

Select Wi-Fi as your blocking condition and choose the Wi-Fi networks you want your apps to be blocked at.

The websites you see in the blocklist are system suggestions based on your browsing activity in Safari. They appear in the list because iOS manages the entire blocklist, and we do not have control over what is displayed. This is normal behavior managed by the iOS system.

If you want to ensure a specific website is visible on the blocklist, simply open the website in Safari, then go to the "Other" category in AppBlock to add it to the list.

I don't see my premium and need to restore it

If you're using the same Apple ID, you should be able to restore your subscription. Simply go to AppBlock > Profile > Restore Purchase. After tapping that, AppBlock should recognize your premium status. If you don’t see "Profile," you might be using an older version—go to AppBlock > More > Restore Purchase instead. We recommend updating to the latest version of AppBlock to enjoy all the new features.

If the apps on your Allowlist are still being blocked, please check if you have more than 50 apps allowed across all your schedules. Unfortunately, the system may struggle to reliably block or allow more than 50 apps at once, which can cause inconsistencies.

Please try adjusting your blocking settings, or consider removing the current Allowlist and setting it up again, with one or two changes to the apps included.

Have you paid for Premium and it is not working? Following this short guide should resolve your issue.

Step 1: Check that you are using the correct Google Play Account.

Go to the Google Play Store.

Tap on your profile picture in the top right corner.

Select Payments and subscriptions.

Select Subscriptions.

If you do not see AppBlock in the list of active subscriptions, you are signed into the wrong account.

Sign in to the correct Google Play account:

Go back to the Google Play Store front page.

Tap on your profile picture in the top right corner.

Tap on the arrow on the right, next to your name and email address.

Select the account you want to use or select Add another account if you don’t see the account you want to use there.

Recheck if AppBlock is in the list of active subscriptions. (Using the instructions in step 1).

If you see AppBlock in the list of active subscriptions, you are using the correct account.

Step 2: Clear the Google Play Store data.

Tap and hold the Play Store icon.

Strict Mode acts like a digital "policeman", ensuring that your Schedules and QuickBlock settings can’t be bypassed. To use Strict Mode, you must have either QuickBlock or Schedules set up.

Here’s how you can configure it:

Choose an access method that best suits your needs. You can select from the following options:

Timer Condition: This option locks your settings for a specified duration (e.g., one week). Once activated, you won’t be able to change your Schedules, QuickBlock, or deactivate Strict Mode until the timer expires.

Follow Schedules Condition: This option locks your settings whenever any of your Schedules are active. When no schedules are active, you’ll be able to make changes. However, note that even if Strict Mode is tied to just one Schedule, all other Schedules will also be locked from modification while Strict Mode is active.

PIN Code or Charger Unlocking: These are less strict options. You can unlock and make changes to your settings by entering a PIN code or connecting your device to a charger.

Cooldown: This feature allows you to set a waiting period (2 to 10 minutes) on the Strict Mode screen before you can deactivate Strict Mode. It’s designed to make you think twice before deactivating Strict Mode, giving you time to reconsider your decision.

Approval: You can set up a partner’s email, such as a family member, friend, or trusted coworker, to unlock Strict Mode. If you need to deactivate Strict Mode, an email will be sent to them, and they can approve or deny your request to deactivate it.

Strict Mode provides a range of options to keep you on track, ensuring you stick to your goals without the temptation to easily turn off your blocks.

You can also choose from additional options to define what will be blocked during Strict Mode:

Lock Blockings in App: This option is always enabled when you turn on Strict Mode and cannot be turned off. It ensures that Strict Mode fulfills its purpose.

Disable App Uninstalling: When this option is enabled, you won’t be able to uninstall any applications, including AppBlock.

Disable Installation of New Apps: This feature hides the App Store, preventing the installation of new apps.

Prevent Time Change: You will not be able to change the time on your device.
