Payments and Subscriptions

If you’ve seen an unexpected charge from AppBlock, here are the most likely explanations.

Your subscription renewed automatically

AppBlock Premium renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

  • Check your subscription status in Settings[Your name]Subscriptions.
  • If you didn’t want to renew, see “How to cancel AppBlock subscription on iPhone” and then “How to request a refund from Apple.”

You have more than one active subscription

It’s possible to end up with duplicate subscriptions — for example, if you purchased AppBlock Premium on a different Apple ID.

  • Open Settings[Your name]Subscriptions and check for multiple AppBlock entries.
  • Cancel any subscriptions you don’t want to keep.

You were charged after a free trial ended

If you started a free trial and didn’t cancel before it ended, Apple automatically charges for the first subscription period.

Refund requests can be submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com — approval is at Apple’s discretion.

The charge is from a family member’s device

If you’re the Family Sharing organizer, purchases made by family members may appear on your payment method.

  • Check Family Sharing purchase history in Settings[Your name]Family Sharing.

If none of these explain the charge

Contact AppBlock support with the date and amount of the charge. We’ll help you identify what happened.

Apple’s Family Sharing allows up to six family members to share certain App Store purchases, including apps and subscriptions.

Requirements

  • You must have Family Sharing set up on your Apple account.
  • The family organizer must have purchased AppBlock Premium.
  • All family members must be part of the same Family Sharing group.

How to set it up

  1. The family organizer opens Settings[Your name]Family Sharing.
  2. Make sure Share Purchases is enabled.
  3. Each family member opens AppBlock on their device.
  4. Go to the Profile tab and tap Restore Purchase.

Premium should be recognized if Family Sharing is active.

If it’s not working

  • Check that Share Purchases is enabled in Family Sharing settings.
  • Make sure all family members are in the same Family Sharing group.
  • Try signing out of the App Store and back in on the affected device.

For more help with Family Sharing, visit Apple’s support page at support.apple.com.

If you bought AppBlock Premium on iOS and want to use it on your Android device too, here’s how to set it up.

Step-by-step

  1. On your iPhone, open AppBlock and sign in to your AppBlock account (if you haven’t already).
  2. On your Android device, download AppBlock and sign in with the same AppBlock account.
  3. Your Premium access will sync automatically — no extra purchase needed.

If Premium doesn’t appear on Android

  • Make sure both apps are on the latest version.
  • On Android, go to AppBlockProfileTroubleshootingRestore Purchases.
  • Sign out and sign back in to your AppBlock account.

  1. On your Android device, open AppBlock and make sure you’re signed in to your AppBlock account.
  2. On your iPhone, download AppBlock and sign in with the same AppBlock account.

AppBlock Premium is linked to your Apple ID, not to a single device. This means you can use it on multiple iPhones or iPads that are signed in with the same Apple ID.

How to activate Premium on another device

  1. Make sure both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID.
  2. Install AppBlock on the other device.
  3. Open AppBlock and go to the Profile tab.
  4. Tap Restore Purchase.

Premium will be activated.

Limitations

  • Premium purchased on iOS works only on Apple devices (iPhone and iPad).
  • It cannot be used on Android — see “Can I transfer Premium from Android to iPhone?” for cross-platform questions.
  • Family Sharing is available as a separate option — see “How to enable Family Sharing for AppBlock on iPhone.”

If you’ve completed a purchase but AppBlock still shows you as a free user, here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.

The purchase didn’t finish syncing

Sometimes there’s a short delay between completing a purchase and AppBlock recognizing it.

  • Wait a minute and restart the app.
  • If it still doesn’t show, try restoring your purchase manually (see “How to restore purchases on iPhone.”)

You’re signed in with a different Apple ID

AppBlock Premium is tied to the Apple ID used during purchase. If the App Store is signed in with a different account, the purchase won’t be recognized.

  • Check your Apple ID in Settings[Your name].
  • Sign in with the account used for the purchase.

There was a payment issue

  • Open Settings[Your name]Subscriptions and check the status.
  • Update your payment method in your Apple ID settings if needed.

After an iOS update or app reinstall

  1. Go to the Profile tab in AppBlock.
  2. Tap Restore Purchase.

If none of these work

Contact AppBlock support and include your Apple ID email (not your password) and the approximate date of purchase. We can help investigate further.

AppBlock purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests go through Apple — not through AppBlock directly.

How to request a refund

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com in your browser.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Find the AppBlock purchase in your purchase history.
  4. Select the purchase and tap Report a Problem.
  5. Choose the reason for your refund request.
  6. Submit the request.

Apple typically responds within a few days. Refunds are not guaranteed and are decided by Apple based on their refund policy.

When a refund is more likely to be approved

  • You were charged without intending to purchase.
  • You purchased by mistake.
  • The app didn’t work as expected and you contact Apple shortly after purchase.

Note

AppBlock cannot issue refunds directly. If you have a question about your purchase before contacting Apple, you’re welcome to reach out to AppBlock support — we can help clarify what you purchased and when.

AppBlock subscriptions are managed through Apple, not through the AppBlock app itself. To cancel, you need to go through your iPhone settings.

Steps to cancel

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap [Your name] at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Find AppBlock in the list and tap it.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.
  6. Confirm the cancellation.

What happens after you cancel

  • Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • You won’t be charged again after that.
  • AppBlock will switch to the free version once the period ends.
  • Your schedules and settings are saved, but some Premium features will stop working.

Important

Cancelling through the AppBlock app is not possible — you must cancel through Apple. If you can’t find AppBlock in your Subscriptions list, check that you’re signed in with the correct Apple ID.

If you’ve paid for AppBlock Premium and need to get it back — after reinstalling the app or switching devices — here’s how to restore your purchase.

Before you start

Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used when you originally purchased Premium. You can check this in iPhone Settings[Your name].

Steps to restore

  1. Open AppBlock.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Restore Purchase.
  4. AppBlock will contact the App Store and verify your purchase.
  5. If successful, Premium will be activated immediately.

If the restore doesn’t work

  • Check that you have an active internet connection.
  • Make sure you’re using the correct Apple ID.
  • Restart the app and try again.
  • If you see the message “Premium is probably linked to a different account,” see that article for next steps.

Restoring a purchase does not create a new charge. You’re simply reconnecting AppBlock to a purchase already on file with Apple.

If you logged into AppBlock and saw the message “Premium is probably linked to a different account”, no worries. It just means you’ve had Premium connected to a different AppBlock account before.

How to fix it

  1. Open AppBlock.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Restore Purchase.

This should bring your Premium features back right away.

If restoring doesn’t work

  • Make sure you’re signed into AppBlock with the account you used to purchase Premium.
  • Check that you’re using the same Apple ID that originally bought the subscription.
  • If you’ve used multiple Apple IDs in the past, try restoring while signed into each one.

If you’ve already purchased AppBlock Premium but the app shows you as a free user, your purchase can usually be restored without buying again.

Why this happens

  • You reinstalled AppBlock.
  • You’re signed in with a different Apple ID than the one you used to purchase.
  • The app didn’t finish syncing after a purchase.

How to restore your Premium

  1. Open AppBlock.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Restore Purchase.
  4. Wait for the confirmation.

If the restore is successful, Premium features will be unlocked immediately.

If the restore doesn’t work

  • Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used when you purchased Premium.
  • Check your purchase history in Settings[Your name]Subscriptions on your iPhone.
  • Try restarting the app and restoring again.

If you’re still having trouble, see the article “Premium is probably linked to a different account.”

Yes, you can use AppBlock for free on iPhone.

The free version is a good way to start if you want to try basic app and website blocking, create a simple setup, or see whether AppBlock fits your routine.

AppBlock Premium unlocks more flexibility and advanced options. It is useful if you want to create more schedules, block for longer periods, use more powerful Strict Mode options, set more usage limits, customize your setup, or use AppBlock across a more complex daily routine.

Where can I compare Free and Premium?

You can see the full Free vs Premium feature comparison here:

The comparison table shows which features are included in the free version and which features are available with Premium.

Which version should I choose?

  • If you only need a simple setup, the free version may be enough.
  • If you want AppBlock to support stricter blocking, longer blocking sessions, more schedules, more usage limits, or more customization, Premium may be a better fit.

I already bought Premium, but I do not see it in AppBlock

If you already purchased Premium but AppBlock still looks like the free version, try restoring your purchase.

  1. Open AppBlock.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Restore Purchase.

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the purchase. If Premium still does not appear, see “I don’t see my Premium and need to restore it.”
